Us and Them: Belonging, Marginalisation and Forced Migration

How does belonging to a specific group shape our identity? How might others be able to define who we are? Why and how are minorities marginalised? What social mechanisms eventually lead to displacement and expulsion? With the help of historical case studies, we explore the causes of forced migration and its ramifications for those who experience it. In doing so, we link the exhibition content to current social challenges and debates and relate it to the participants’ everyday experiences..
