DIALOGUE-BASED GUIDED TOUR: STUDENTS AT VOCATIONAL COLLEGES, PROFESSIONAL GROUPS, DURATION: 90 MINUTES
Displacement and Expulsion – Causes and Ramifications

© Juliane Eirich
What causes forced migration? What does it mean to lose your home or homeland? This guided programme explores major instances of displacement and expulsion in 20th-century Europe, focusing in particular on 14 million Germans who were displaced during and after the Second World War. Through installations, testimonies and objects from the Permanent Exhibition participants gain insight into what it means to have to leave everything behind and to start all over again far from home. With a selection of thematically relevant exhibition topics, we focus specifically on questions and interests related to professional life. Engaging impulses and questions pertinent to the present day invite participation and exchange.
