Guided Tour: 3rd – 6th Grade, Duration: 90 Minutes

Leaving everything behind – why people are displaced

People are being displaced all over the world. Why do they have to flee and what are they running from? This is a conversational guided tour for children. We select specific age-appropriate examples of displacement from our permanent exhibition in order to convey what it means to have to leave everything behind and start all over again in a new place. What might happen to children en route? What does it feel like to be a stranger in a foreign place? How can we relate to – and learn from – the experiences of the displaced?
