Change in leadership at the foundation

After ten years, Dr. Gundula Bavendamm’s term as Director of the Foundation for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation came to an end on 31 March. Under her leadership, the Documentation Centre opened in June 2021 and has since established itself as a prominent cultural institution in the German capital.

On 26 March, the Foundation Board unanimously elected Dr. Roland Borchers as the new director of the Foundation. The historian is currently Deputy Head of the Documentation Centre for Nazi Forced Labour in Berlin.

Until he takes up his post, Dr. Nils Köhler will serve as acting director of the Foundation.
