FOR FAMILIES

Interactive reading with dance
EVENT HALL, GROUND FLOOR
1.30 – 2.00 p.m.
Recommended for ages four to twelve (and adults)

With music and dance, dancer Karla Mendoza brings two stories to life and warmly invites children to join in and move to the music.

We will read two stories, with piano arrangement by Markos Ioannou. Children are welcome to listen and/or dance to the music.

We read the picture books ‘Bestimmer sein – Wie Elvis die Demokratie erfand’ (Being the boss – How Elvis invented democracy), a book that makes the topic of democracy accessible to children in an entertaining way, and ‘Der Koffer’ (The suitcase), which tells a touching story about curiosity and the importance of treating strangers with openness and tolerance.

In cooperation with: Music Family Hub (an initiative by Nanja Oedi & Pamela Bürger, who campaign for improved work-life balance).

Interactive reading with music
EVENT HALL, GROUND FLOOR
2.30 – 3.00 p.m.
Recommended for ages four to twelve (and adults)

Two stories will be read aloud accompanied by music. We invite the children to move to the sounds or listen to the piano music by Markos Ioannou.

We will read the empowering book ‘Naya’, which is about self-love, sensitises children to hurtful and discriminatory behaviour and encourages even the youngest children to stand up for themselves. We will also take you on a journey with ‘The Crocodile is Looking for a New Home’, a sensitive story about the search for belonging and the courage to embrace new things.

In cooperation with: Music Family Hub (an initiative by Nanja Oedi & Pamela Bürger, who campaign for improved work-life balance).
