This tour of the permanent exhibition at the Documentation Center for Displacement, Expulsion, and Reconciliation focuses on the Yugoslav Wars.

These wars are considered one of the greatest humanitarian disasters in Europe since World War II. The collapse of the multi-ethnic state led to nationalist tensions, ethnic expulsions, and widespread violence.

The tour sheds light on the background of the Srebrenica genocide and poses important questions: What does it mean to be unwanted in one’s homeland? How did refugees from former Yugoslavia experience their arrival in Germany?
