On International Women’s Day, we focus on stories of women and girls who had to flee their homes. What did they experience? What were they able to take with them? And what stories do the objects they were able to keep tell us about expulsion, displacement, and new beginnings? In the permanent exhibition, we draw inspiration from these objects. After an introductory tour, we create comic drawings to gain new perspectives on the often traumatic experiences and memories. Which experiences shaped them? In the process, we also draw on our own thoughts, memories and emotions to create drawings and texts.

Creative workshop led by: Ami Bogin, illustrator and comic artist
