Words Connect: 80 years since displacement and expulsion

In our writing workshop, the motto ‘Words connect’ comes to life. Thoughts, memories and personal experiences on the theme of ‘80 years since the end of the war’ will be the focus in June. Together, we will explore the exhibition rooms from this perspective and then put pen to paper ourselves, allowing stories told, remembered and experienced about the end of the Second World War to take root and flourish. Peace came to Western and Eastern Europe in very different forms – this ‘divide across Europe’ led to different life experiences for many people on both sides of the Iron Curtain. Even today, wars are unfortunately still a reality for many people – but we give space to our thoughts, hopes and wishes for peaceful coexistence and use the creative power of writing to turn words into bridges between different languages, stories and life stories. The writing workshop invites anyone who likes to experiment with words and language. We provide inspiration and are happy to take inspiration from others. Writing together becomes a dialogue in which we can all learn something from each other and with each other.
The writing workshop takes place in German, English and Polish, and participants write in their preferred language.
