Perhaps you’ve been thinking for some time about writing down cherished family memories and stories: but how do you begin, and what options are available? Or perhaps you have already started writing and encountered unexpected challenges: how can you overcome them and regain your motivation?

This interactive workshop offers you the opportunity to explore your own family history through writing in surprisingly diverse ways. It provides an introduction to key aspects of this particular form of autobiographical writing, as well as to the wide range of possibilities you can draw upon. Through literary examples and short exercises from autobiographical and creative writing, you will be able to discover first-hand which methods and styles suit you and your goals.

This workshop is designed for both participants with no prior experience and for those with experience. The only requirement is an interest in linguistic and creative experimentation, as well as in exchange and shared reflection. You are welcome to bring copies of family photographs.

Workshop led by:

Sandra Miriam Schneider, writing coach and instructor in autobiographical, creative and literary writing
