Writing Workshop “Words Connect”

“Words Connect” is more than just the title of our writing workshop – it’s our guiding principle. Words make it possible to share even the seemingly unspeakable. In December, our focus will be on thoughts, memories, and personal experiences related to the Yugoslav Wars. After a long period of peace, this was the first armed conflict to break out again in Europe, reminding many that peace could not be taken for granted.
Together, we will explore the exhibition spaces with a focus on the wars in the former Yugoslavia, and then turn to writing. Even today, war remains a reality for many people. In this workshop, we give space to both history and our own stories, using the creative power of writing to build connections—between languages, experiences, and lives.
The workshop welcomes everyone who enjoys experimenting with words and language. We will inspire each other, exchange ideas, and discover how shared writing becomes a dialogue where we can all learn with and from one another.
The workshop will be held in German and English, and participants may write in the language of their choice.
